Dave Ferruolo is a psychotherapist and behavioral health specialist at the Laconia office of HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc. He is a former Navy SEAL, local New Hampshire entrepreneur and business owner, and a published self-help author. Over the years, Dave has earned a certificate in music theory and performance from the McNally Smith Conservatory of Music, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and a Master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of New Hampshire. Currently, Dave is working on his Doctorate dissertation at Plymouth State University, researching equine facilitated psychotherapy and the psychological issues of combat exposed veterans. Findings from Dave’s research studies have been published in Combat Stress, Social Work, and Trauma Made Simple. Dave serves on two nonprofit boards that assist veterans with service related issues, and he has developed and facilitates equine assisted psychotherapy retreats that target the issues combat veterans face, including civilian reintegration, mental health, and substance misuse. Dave is well versed at treating a multitude of psychological and substance misuse issues using variety of psycho-therapeutic frameworks.
